We believe in healthy spaces-quality architecture that is stripped of unnecessary materials, clean and simplistic in its systems, and focused on the craft of how renewable materials and intriguing details come together. Brian Krob

Principal


Passionate about the role the architect plays in the strategy of developing the built environment, Brian Krob has found each project is an opportunity to creates spaces that capture the imagination while being conscientious of resources. Brian is incredibly grateful for remarkable experiences developed during his undergrad at Arizona State University as well as his Master's at UCLA. He took from that a desire to develop mindfully, weighing issues of energy and water consumption, and finding ways to repurpose structures to reduce cost and material. As a co-founder of Aline Architecture Concepts he has brought to practice these ideals and the experience to affect the architecture of today. Now that he has two girls of his own, he is passing along his passion for making and being respectful to the place where you create.


Brian Laubenthal

Principal

With a philosophy rooted in sustainability, Brian Laubenthal designs healthy spaces that are in harmony with their environment, bringing a heightened awareness to even the simplest of projects. His love for eco-conscious architecture was instilled at a young age, leading to a career in commercial, residential and hospitality design. A LEED Accredited Professional and member of the AIA, Brian earned his Bachelor of Science in architectural studies from the University of Michigan before completing a Masters of Architecture at Arizona State University. Motivated by a passion for design and an obsession with organization, Brian feels a strong desire to help people and the environment. Brian volunteers time to mentor high school students interested in architecture, local non-profit groups to help shape our community, developed eco-friendly classrooms with the green school house series and involved in his church's continued growth and master planning. He has a strong belief in live work balance making time to coach his boys' soccer, taking them to construction sites, and spending time with his amazing wife.


Brian Laubenthal

Brian volunteers his time to mentor high school students interested in architecture, works with local non-profit groups to help shape our community, developed eco-friendly classrooms with the green school house series and involved in his church's continued growth and master planning. Heidi Grimwood

Senior Project Manager


Heidi is a registered Architect who draws inspiration from the natural environment, developing brilliant solutions that elevate spaces and enhance local community. Led by creativity, she works with the client and project team to devise well-integrated designs—solving whatever puzzles may arise along the way. A graduate of University of Arizona with a Bachelor's degree in architecture, Heidi's prior experience includes ground-up construction of retail developments and major hotel brands across the United States. She's motivated by creativity, continued education and a drive to stay forever inspired. Heidi's hobbies include creating wall art, woodworking, riding her bike on the greenbelt, and spending time with friends and family.


Dorota Grodzinska

Senior Project Manager


Born and raised in Poland, Dorota is a world traveler with a deep understanding of cultural diversity and the universal values that transcend these differences. Her design philosophy is rooted in balanced proportions and scale, with a focus on environmental responsibility, simplicity and timeless expression. With a Bachelor's degree in architecture from Technical University of Krakow, Dorota is a LEED Green Associate, and a Registered Architect in the States of Arizona and California. Inspired by shapes and patterns found in nature, Dorota believes that every architectural challenge is an opportunity, and loves seeing an idea go from “napkin sketch” to a physical manifestation of design. When she's not working, she spends her time hiking or gardening, traveling and volunteering for various causes.

Ken Molfetta

Project Manager

Passionate about building community, Ken believes the built environment not only has a critical role in solving climate change but also a role in connecting people through the design of intentional spaces. When buildings respond to climate, they can create spaces that enrich peoples physical and mental health and wellbeing. Color, texture, light and shadow all define how people feel and experience architecture and play a critical role in a person's experience with the built environment. With a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arizona, Kens approach to design is multifaceted, solving critical design issues while also seeing it from a human scale aimed at creating spaces for the individual while responding to community. His prior experience includes working with the University of Arizona Drachman Design Build Coalition, designing local restaurants, offices, and custom home projects as well as larger projects, from club houses to community parks & boutique hotels. When Ken is not hard at work in the office, he's at home playing with his three pugs, playing ice hockey and designing and building the next phase of home improvements with his husband Adam.


Colby Vickers

Project Manager

The son of a custom homebuilder, Colby has been passionate about design and the built environment from a young age. Along with a love for all things creative, seeing a project come to life through construction inspired him to pursue a career in architecture. As architects, Colby believes we have a great opportunity to be stewards of the environment through responsible and innovative design. Receiving his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Colby is a registered architect in Arizona and Pennsylvania. His prior experience includes managing large-scale commercial remodel and expansion projects as well as tenant improvement projects across the country. Outside of work, Colby enjoys hiking with his wife and dog, photography, painting, and looking for the next concert to attend.

Nicole Rhino

Office Manager


With a continued interest in architecture and design, Nicole brings her curiosity and desire for efficiency into her role as Office Manager. Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Art & Design from Columbia College Chicago, Nicole understands the importance that an efficient environment provides in a creative space. Being able to assist in the team meeting deadlines, maintaining organization, and deciphering team member’s needs before they communicate them are her favorite aspects of being an Office Manager. Out of the office, Nicole enjoys spending as much time as possible outside on runs, hikes, and bike rides, as well as pursuing an interest in landscape photography and spending time with friends and family.
