We believe all students should complete multiple job shadows in their careers of interest. It is important to see the practical value of the career, hear the experience of others, and learn how your own passions apply. "As a high school student, I had a job shadow opportunity with a local architect. I sat in his office and saw what his daily routine looked like. He gave me set of construction documents to look at, and then we went to the construction site where I was able to see how the ideas went from the plans to the job site. This was an important step in my experience, and we want to offer this opportunity to students." - Brian Laubenthal. In past years we've had several students complete job shadows with our firm. We offer a half day job shadow to discuss our steps through education, job experience, and why we started ALINE. We then show students the phases of our process and typically go to a job site where we discuss how our design intent was applied. We are also part of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce Partners in Progress program where we offer more in-depth job shadow opportunities with weekly meetings over 2 months. We want to offer our experience, advice and be mentors for the next generation.
Complete the registration to be considered for a job shadow. Limited number of opportunities offered per year.
Over our 10 years in business there have been so many kind people who believed in us and helped us grow into the firm we are today. And for that we will be forever grateful. They are part of the reason that "Community" is one of our most important brand values. We have always supported and encouraged the next generation of architects, and 2020 has inspired us to do even more. Our values are dedicated to helping people, our environment, social justice movements, equality, and kindness. We believe inspired architecture can build a better world.
ALINE Architecture Concepts is committed to supporting local and building positive change in our community. To show support for the next generation we have created the Inspired Architecture Scholarship. We are looking for high school and college students currently contributing to their community and who have inspired aspirations for how their education and career in architecture can create a better future. We want to hear your passion and what inspires you. For the first year of this scholarship we are partnering with Arizona State University and students planning to attend or are attending the architecture program.
This is our first year offering the scholarship and will be refining our process, goals, and documents. We will also be building on this scholarship each year to grow funds and help inspire more students. Register to be on our email list and receive updates.
