Hotel Solaya is a comprehensive architectural refresh redefining a boutique hotel in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. The project evolved through close collaboration with the client and design partners, with the goal of unifying past layers of renovation into a cohesive architectural vision that feels intentional, timeless, and connected to its neighborhood context.
Rather than a cosmetic update, the design establishes a clear architectural framework that elevates both guest rooms and public spaces. Material decisions and spatial organization were guided by cohesion, clarity, and durability, reinforcing the hotel’s role as a place to gather, connect, and experience its surroundings.
A key architectural move reorients the restaurant toward the adjacent park, activating the site and strengthening the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces. Throughout the hotel, targeted interventions resolve fragmented past remodels, improve flow, and support a refreshed identity rooted in hospitality and place.
