Phoenix Magazine's Roosevelt Row
Located on Roosevelt Row the site had been used for a flower shop warehouse for 30 years. We stripped the building of unnecessary materials to the original architecture. We then embraced the original character and style of the buildng to give it new life and street presence. The 10,000 s.f. of ashpalt parking lot was demolished to create a large urban patio with abundant landscaping, decomposed granite and pavers partially covered by a new steel structure. The building addition is a recycled shipping container that now surves as an outdoor bar. We worked closely with the City of Phoneix to maximize the Adaptive Reuse program, sustainable building credits and create a site like no other in downtown, that we hope inspires others to bring Wilderness into the hearts of the city.
A special thank you to the late Art Cunningham for giving us the opportunity to work with him on redeveloping his property and for his friendship over the years. Cheers.
